Z-Series FTP Setup Steps
DeadlineFTP Compatibility: Works with FTP (unencrypted) connections. For cameras that support FTPS, select "FTP" mode. For security, use on trusted networks only.
- Enable Wi-Fi on your camera (Menu → Network → Connect to smart device)
- Connect to your network (same Wi-Fi network as DeadlineFTP)
- Configure FTP settings (Menu → Network → Network settings → FTP upload)
- Enter FTP server details:
- Server address: ftp.deadlineftp.com
- Port: 21
- Login name: Your DeadlineFTP FTP username
- Password: Your DeadlineFTP FTP password
- Connection mode: Passive
- Test connection using camera's connection test
- Configure upload options (Auto send, file types, destination)
Recommended: Enable Auto Send
For the best tethered shooting experience, enable "Auto Send" in your camera's FTP settings (Menu → Network → FTP Upload → Auto Send → On). This ensures images upload immediately after capture. On Z9 and Z8, also enable
Background Upload for transfer during continuous shooting.
Not Supported
Consumer Z-series: Z5, Z6, Z6 II, Z7, Z7 II, Z30, Z50, Zfc - No FTP support
Consumer D-series: D7500, D5600, D3500, etc. - No FTP support
Wireless transmitters do NOT add FTP capability to consumer models.
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues: Verify DeadlineFTP credentials, ensure Passive Mode is enabled, confirm camera and network are on same network, check firewall settings.
Transfer Issues: Check camera's upload settings and file types, ensure sufficient storage, verify destination folder is accessible.
