General FTP Setup Steps
DeadlineFTP Compatibility: Works with FTP (unencrypted) connections. For cameras that support FTPS/SFTP, select "FTP" mode in camera settings. For security, use on trusted networks only.
  1. Enable Wi-Fi on your camera
  2. Connect to your network (same network as DeadlineFTP)
  3. Navigate to FTP settings (usually in Network/Wi-Fi menu)
  4. Enter FTP server details:
    • Server: ftp.deadlineftp.com
    • Port: 21
    • Username: Your DeadlineFTP FTP username
    • Password: Your DeadlineFTP FTP password
  5. Test connection using camera's built-in test
  6. Configure transfer settings (auto-send, folder selection, etc.)
Recommended: Enable Auto Transfer
For the best tethered shooting experience, enable "Auto Transfer" or "Auto Send" in your camera's FTP settings. This ensures images are automatically uploaded immediately after capture. Look for settings like Transfer During Shooting and Transfer Target to choose which image types to send.
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues: Verify DeadlineFTP credentials, confirm camera and network are connected, check firewall settings, verify correct IP address/port/username/password.
Transfer Issues: Ensure sufficient storage, check destination folder settings, verify camera's auto-transfer settings, try manual transfer to test connection.
